Affiliate Disclosure

Some of the links on General Posting are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to buy something, we may receive a commission from the retailer.

What this costs you

Nothing. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you had gone to the retailer directly. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.

Where these links appear

Mainly in our Offers section and in the weekly email. They can also appear in articles where we mention a specific product or service.

What it does not change

Whether a commission exists does not decide what we publish or how we describe it. We list offers because they look genuinely worth having, and we leave out plenty that would pay us. If we recommend something, the commission is not the reason.

We do not get told what to write by any retailer or affiliate network, and nobody sees our editorial content before it is published.

How offers are chosen

We check that the discount is real, that it has not expired, and that the retailer is one we would be comfortable sending a reader to. Offers that fail those checks do not get listed, regardless of what they pay.

Other commercial content

Sponsored articles and paid placements are labelled as such. Contributed articles may be written by businesses about their own field — our Editorial Policy and Contributor Guidelines cover how those are handled.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you think a link should have been disclosed and was not, tell us.

This disclosure is provided in line with Australian Consumer Law and the disclosure requirements of the affiliate networks we work with.
