Editorial Policy
This policy covers everything published on General Posting, whether written by us or contributed by someone else.
What we publish
Articles that are useful to an Australian general reader, accurate as far as we can establish, and readable. We cover business, technology, food, health, travel, finance, home, automotive, entertainment and education.
What we do not publish
- Articles written mainly to carry a link rather than to inform a reader.
- Replica, counterfeit or knock-off goods, however they are described.
- Gambling, nicotine and vaping products, or anything requiring a prescription in Australia.
- Medical, legal or financial claims presented as advice without qualification or source.
- Material copied from elsewhere, or republished from this site under a new byline.
Review before publication
Every contributed article is read by a human before it goes live. We check that it is original, that it is about something real, that outbound links go somewhere legitimate, and that it does not fall into the list above. We decline more than we accept.
Approval is not endorsement. A published article reflects the view of its author, not of General Posting.
Commercial content
Some articles are contributed by businesses writing about their own field. Some links earn us a commission. Neither buys a favourable opinion, and neither determines what appears in our editorial sections. Where a piece is paid for or sponsored, it is labelled. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains how commission works.
Accuracy and corrections
We correct errors of fact when we find them or when they are pointed out. Significant corrections are noted on the article itself rather than made silently. If something we have published is wrong, misleading or out of date, tell us and we will look at it.
Removal
We remove or unpublish material that breaches this policy, including articles published before the policy existed. We review the archive on an ongoing basis rather than treating anything as permanent by default.
Use of AI
We do not publish articles generated wholesale by AI and passed off as original reporting. Contributors who use AI tools in drafting remain responsible for the accuracy of what they submit, and we assess the article on what it actually says.
Independence
General Posting is published by 24GO Pty Ltd. Editorial decisions are made independently of the commercial side of the business, and no advertiser or partner sees or approves editorial content before publication.
