Essential Things You Need For A Visa Application

Visa application is one of the most crucial stages of obtaining a visa. You have to submit dozens of documents, appear when the embassy or visa officer demands, and repetitively submit documents if they need to be more accurate. But you can make the process of Schengen visa application smooth and enjoyable by fulfilling the visa application needs. 

For a Schengen visa application, there are a few documents that you need to submit. They are a flight reservation for visa, proof of travel insurance, and hotel booking.   • An online Schengen visa application form. Along with visa application payment receipt.
  • Your valid passport. It must be valid for at least six months beyond your planned stay in the Schengen zone. However, there are some countries that are exempt from this requirement only needing a passport that is valid. Your passport must have at least two blank pages. 
  • Two recent photographs. The photos that you intend to submit must meet the Schengen visa requirements. At times, unknowingly the photos become the reason for visa holding. So be careful while uploading the photos.
  • Dummy itinerary for Schengen visa. It is one of the major supporting documents without which your visa application is baseless. Therefore, when you make reservations for visa applications keep three things in mind. First, the dummy itinerary you book must be for a round trip. Secondly, the dummy ticket must be booked in accordance with the dates you planned to travel. Lastly, the validity of the dummy ticket is fifteen days. Once you obtain your visa immediately convert the dummy into the original ticket. 
  • Proof of travel insurance. When applying for a Schengen visa, it is mandatory for travellers to purchase travel insurance to ensure financial protection. The travel insurance must cover medical costs at least 30,000 EUR (equivalent to 32,000 USD). Cover any costs that might arise if you have to go back home for medical reasons, urgent health care, emergency hospital care, or for luggage claim.
  • Dummy hotel booking. To convince the visa officer or embassy that you will return to your home country, you need to submit a dummy hotel booking. The dummy document must indicate that you booked a stay for the dates you will be staying in the Schengen zone. 
  • Cover Letter
  • NOC Letter (it has to be submitted for a few visa categories such as student or work visa) and
  • Proof of sufficient funds.
