Located in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, the Vault House Group is the latest group to embrace the concept of private club membership à la London-born Soho House.
Situated in Berrima, one of the country’s best-preserved 1800s villages, Berrima Vault House is the first of two concepts conceived by the Vault House Group in 2021. Following the shake-up of work culture due to the COVD-19 pandemic, the group hopes to breathe new life into the concept of community building and work-life-balance through private club membership.
Berrima Vault House is housed in the historial Taylor’s Crown Inn, a beautiful structure originally built by convicts in 1844. “[Berrima Vault House] is like London’s Soho House and Noir – where basically our home is your home; our lounge is your lounge,” notes general manager Jason Cooley in an interview.
Following the success of Berrima Vault House, the Vault House Group then launched Clarence Vault Rooms–a sanctuary for Sydneysiders that has taken up residency in a subterranean heritage building on Clarence Street which was originally an electrical substation that powered Sydney’s CBD.
